PROVIDING DENTAL IMPLANT SERVICES IN LOS ANGELES

Missing Teeth

Dental implants are created in order to provide replacement teeth that look, function and feel like natural teeth. Dental implants allow an individual has lost teeth is able to regain the ability to eat solid foods and can smile with confidence. The base of the implants are created using small posts made out of titanium. These posts are placed into the gum and jawbone replacing the root of the missing tooth/teeth. The bone then bonds with the titanium creating a strong foundation for the dental implant to be inserted. Dental implants are an excellent alternative to dentures as they halt bone deterioration – a common side-effect of missing teeth.

Dental implants are changing the lives of thousands of people each day. Rediscover confidence when eating, speaking laughing and enjoy life!

Procedure

Dental implants are titanium posts that stand as substitutes for the natural tooth root. Once successfully implanted in the jawbone, a small portion of the post should protrude through the gum. These will be used as the anchors for the artificial teeth that will be later implanted.

Typically dental implants require a two-part procedure for completion. The first procedure involves the placement of the titanium posts into the jawbone. Following the procedure, the implants require a healing period of 3 – 6 months. During this time, the implants will be bonding with the jawbone to form a strong stable foundation for the future implant. In the meantime, a temporary denture can be worn. A soft diet is also recommended during this recovery period.

Once the posts have successfully bonded with the jaw, the second phase begins. Your surgeon will uncover the dental implants and attach a healing collar. After, an impression is created in order to allow for the creation of the replacement teeth.

The entire procedure can take up to eight months, however, a majority of patients do not report experiencing any disruption in their daily life
